Client:Yuma Regional Medical Center
ARCHSOL worked closely with the client from the outset to establish the programmatic requirements of the electronic medical records program, and was privileged to be involved at this level of planning. Factors such as software design, permanent and temporary staffing and healthcare procedures all had to be analyzed.
Effective technology deployment was at the core of the project. As a Tier 3 data center, the facility needed to have multiple independent distribution paths and full redundancy serving its IT equipment.
In addition to the data center itself, space was required to accommodate software design and training demands. For this, 9,000 square feet had to be re-purposed as training rooms for the Electronic Medical Records team. Supplemental space was also created for the team engaged in building the software to support the program prior to construction.
The data center was designed as a cleanroom environment — modern, bright, and highly advanced. Security and information protection was a key factor, so the plans accounted for minimizing unnecessary traffic in and out of the center. It also helped ensure that only individuals who work there, with the appropriate approval, would have access.
As a result of thoughtful planning and sound construction, the new data center is now enabling YRMC to move seamlessly into the future of digital medical records, equipped with the latest technology to best serve its patients.
